Desertsand ran up to her leader among the battlers slowly drawing away from eachother. He was bleeding from his eyes and head. Feeling his pulse, the pulse that wasn't there, she lifted her head."NOOOOOOOOO!"she screamed. Then she lead her Clan away. She buried Thicketstar, with help from Willowfeather, under a tree. They moved on.
That sundown, Desertsand got up on the Greattree in newly found territory. "My new deputy shall be Morningshade." she proclaimed, and so it was, a new leader, a new deputy.
Less than a moon later, Willowfeather came back from a journey because she found the Moonrock. Desertsand went, and was visited by many brave cats, including Thicketstar. She came back as Desertstar. And so, she became the leader.
