Crystalkit opened her eyes. It was the dead of night. She walked out of the nursery and stretched. She thought, How I love to be alone. She went into the forest, in the part of territory that wasn't forbidden to kits, near the fresh-kill pile. She breathed in the cold night air, savoring the moment. Then she heard a rustling noise in the trees. "W-who's there?" she whimpered.

Treekit sits outside the nursery, he looks around the dark and quiet camp. He sees a little lump move out of the corner of his eye; wiping his head into direction of the moving lump as his eyes adjust to the night he sees that the lump was a kit, maybe one of his friends. Where do you think you are going? You shouldn't be out at night!He thinks to himself as he walks over to the kit. Treekit mews in a surprised, friendly tone, "What are you doing out here, Crystalkit?"
