Desertstar walked up to the clearing. "Hunting patrol!" she called back to camp, padding up to the lake. She wondered if anyone would come.

Desertstar jumped into the water. "Come on, Sunpaw! You try!" she mewed.

"Okay..." Sunpaw mewed. He dove in and bobbed back up with a tiny salmon in his jaws. He put it on the shore and swam to a shiny object underwater that caught his eye.

Desertstar dove under, too, and saw a rainbow fish. She caught Sunpaw's eye and nodded encouragingly.

Sunpaw swiftly caught and killed the fish. He cam back up, spluttering. "Wow!" he mewed. "This is cool!"

Desertstar bobbed back up. "Wow, it is!" she mewed. "Wanna catch more, hunt on the ground, or go back to camp?" she purred.

Desertstar dove under, too, and found a tuna, her favorite. She swam towards it, and swiped. But it got away.

Sunpaw watched as a tuna swam away from Desertstar and straight towards himself. He lunged and caught it.
